Dear October,

Welcome back. You arrive with crisp mornings, golden leaves and evenings that ask for candles instead of open windows. You remind us that change is not something to resist, but something to honour. Your presence whispers that slowing down is strength and that beauty is found not only in bloom but also in release.

October, you teach us self care

With you, the light shifts. Days grow shorter, nights longer. The body begins to adjust — our energy dips earlier, our appetite turns toward warmer meals. You nudge us to align with the rhythm of nature instead of fighting against it.

Balance in October is not abstract; it is lived. It looks like taking a morning walk to catch the sun before it slips too low, nourishing ourselves with root vegetables and grounding foods and giving space for rest without guilt. It is in saying no to what drains us and YES to the practices that restore us.

You reshape our homes

You invite us to see the home as sanctuary. This doesn’t require grand changes — only intention. A soft blanket draped on a chair, a vase filled with branches from a walk, the gentle glow of a beeswax candle on the table.

October asks us to design spaces that hold us when the outside world feels cold. By surrounding ourselves with natural textures, seasonal foods, and symbols of the earth, we create rooms that are not only beautiful but also deeply supportive of our wellbeing.

You invite connection

Before winter sweeps us into its rush, you offer quieter gatherings. A meal with friends around a simple table, an evening of creativity — wreath-making, journaling, or sharing music — or even a moment of gratitude where each voice is heard.

You remind us that balance is also relational. It is found in listening deeply, in sitting together without distraction, in remembering that the warmth we share multiplies when given.

You call us to pause, inviting us into gentle self care.

Lighting a candle at dusk, practicing a few minutes of meditation, or writing down what we wish to release as the leaves fall. These small October self care practices anchor us. They bring rhythm and meaning to days that might otherwise feel rushed.

And in this slowing down, we begin to notice — the scent of woodsmoke in the air, the way the light falls differently through the window, the quiet strength of trees letting go of what no longer serves them.

And so we honour you

We honour you by choosing rest when the world tells us to speed up, by cooking nourishing meals that strengthen body and soul, and by creating beauty in simple, sustainable ways. We honour you by carrying light into shadow, not with fear, but with trust.

Dear October, welcome back. You remind us that this season is not one of decline, but of renewal. A time to realign, restore, and remember that balance is not something far away — it lives in the choices we make each day.

There is no better way to honour your gifts than by gathering together — creating with our hands, sharing stories, and weaving beauty into our spaces. Our seasonal workshops are now open — book your place today and celebrate October with us.

As the days grow darker, may your inner light shine even brighter.

Until next time,

With love,

Ilaria
